Website trends for UK businesses in 2026
What we are seeing across hundreds of UK small business websites: fewer pages, stronger proof, and a shift from projects to subscriptions.
Three patterns showed up repeatedly across the sites we built and migrated in the first half of 2026. None of them are design fashions — they are all about how buyers decide.
Fewer, better pages
The forty-page brochure site is being replaced by ten to fifteen pages that each do a job: one per service, one per area genuinely served, and proof throughout. Coverage still matters, but only where the business can say something specific.
Proof beats polish
Real photographs of real work outperform illustration and stock imagery on almost every enquiry-driven site we measure. Buyers are checking whether you are real before they check whether you are good.
Projects becoming subscriptions
Businesses are increasingly unwilling to pay four figures for a site that then goes stale. Monthly arrangements that include hosting, support and ongoing changes keep the site current, which is also what search engines reward.
